Let us introduce the Ferrari 328 GTS.
In 1985, the 308 GT/GTS was replaced by the 328 GT/GTS as part of a model change.Building on the success of its predecessor, the 308—a compact Ferrari equipped with a V8 engine—this model featured significantly increased power and major updates to the body and other components. With its beautiful body lines and refined driving performance, it became an immensely popular model. It was produced for only four years, from its launch until 1989.
The body was available in two types: the coupe, known as the Berlinetta, and the Spider (GTS); there was no open-top model like a cabriolet.This particular vehicle is the GTS variant with a Targa top. Its beautiful design was created by Pininfarina and is considered one of the finest body styles among the works of Leonardo Fioravanti, the designer at the time—a design that exudes a sportiness within the elegant, quintessentially Ferrari aesthetic.
The engine, a 3.2-liter V8 DOHC 4-valve unit carried over from the 308 series, produced 270 horsepower via Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection.Combined with a curb weight of less than 1.3 metric tons, its handling delivers a powerful yet nimble driving experience. With its smooth gearshift feel, agile suspension, and stable brakes, this Ferrari is truly a joy to drive.The German domestic specification further enhances the car’s appeal with its powerful and crisp handling.
The interior features black leather, and the seats are comfortable, making it easy to handle even long-distance drives. Removing the detachable top to enjoy the iconic Ferrari sound while driving is also a major attraction. Compared to the previous-generation 308, the controls and switches have been made more user-friendly, and the air conditioning is surprisingly effective.The ride is pleasantly soft, and the car changes direction effortlessly through corners without the slightest hint of unease—truly, one can only say, “That’s Ferrari for you.”
This particular vehicle was imported to Japan from Germany in 1992. Considering its age, it has low mileage—just over 40,000 kilometers—and both the engine and transmission are in excellent condition.There are also numerous maintenance records on file. With features like retractable headlights—which are no longer used today—and its manageable size that makes for a casual driving experience, it offers many charms not found in modern Ferraris.
